Galvanic Dissolved Oxygen measurement is better than Optical Dissolved Oxygen when users needs resolution below 10 ppb. This typically means industrial plants using high pressure steam generation (approximately 600 psi or greater), semiconductor fabrication plants and other ultra pure water applications. Galvanic offers better accuracy and read to much lower levels – IC Controls galvanic products reads down accurately to tenths of a ppb – see link. It is known that electrochemical sensors such as galvanic sensor offer superior resolution in this range over optical sensors.
