The sensor assembly is designed to work with the electronics package located in a junction box above the liquid level. The assembly is completely encapsulated and comes with a standard 3 meter (10 foot) lead. This setup achieves a reliability not previously possible with submersion pH measurement.
“Back in 2018 I purchased and installed four IC Controls pH sensors and transmitters at a customer’s site. It was a challenging application on two large holding tanks handling 0 and 14 pH waste water. The probes have performed great with infrequent calibrations. Today, that Plant reached out to me and requested a replacement pH sensor and a spare.”
“Yes, you can go ahead and use my application as an example of IC Controls quality and durability. For the record, when this system was constructed using two ~6000 gallon fiberglass tanks, it needed two pH sensors in each tank. No one but IC Controls said they could handle the process. These tanks are High and Low pH holding tanks. This is rinse water from various spent ion-exchange tanks with activated resin, among other sources. There are in-tank recirculating pump eductors providing agitation for accurate pH readings. The retractable pH probes are mounted 24” from the bottom of the tanks and there are two pH probes on each tank for correlation/redundancy. This system has been in constant use for over seven years with little/no maintenance except occasional calibration verifications. The pH of the tanks is extremely low and high. Typically <1 pH in the low tank >13 in the high tank. Temperatures are ambient Southern California conditions.”
