Quick-Union Chlorine Sensor

The model 835 free chlorine sensor is accurate, rugged and self-cleaning. The quick-union sensor is recommended for difficult applications which require frequent removal of the sensor for calibration, cleaning or QC checks. The true-union-style threaded fitting locks in the sensor for extra safety and easy removal. The model 835 sensor is a universal version offered in an easy-to-install configuration for insertion or submersion applications.

  • Only one sensor needed for all uses
  • Easy to lock in or remove for calibration
  • Rugged body construction from 1″ schedule 80 pipe
  • Fast, accurate and stable response
  • Smooth, broad surface tip, resists biological growth from accumulating on the membrane
  • Open sensor tip has protective lugs to prevent handling damage
  • Factory-mounted membrane, easy to replace in only two minutes
  • Galvanic gold cathode and silver anode battery chemistry is specific to free chlorine. There is no need to compensate for non-chlorine gases.
  • Quick-union design for submersion, screw-in and flow-through applications all with one sensor

IC Controls developed the model 835 quick-union free chlorine sensor with the following benefits:

  • Pop-in membranes! Installation of factory pre-tensioned membrane module works every time with no special operator skills needed. The membrane will not wrinkle or tear.
  • Self-cleaning is achieved with a design that creates a rolling turbulence on the membrane. The durable PVC body, constructed from schedule 80 PVC pipe, is designed to withstand impacts.
  • Air is purged from the cell as membrane module cap is threaded on, resulting in very fast stabilization. Self-regenerating electrolyte maintains consistent free chlorine readings during long operating runs without the need for recharging.
  • Galvanic technology provides an absolute zero (zero current equals zero free chlorine) which provides excellent accuracy at ppm levels. The gold cathode tip is unaffected by sulfides and other contaminants in the waste water treatment process.
